After a strong 2012 McLaren had high hopes for 2013 with the MP4-28. The car was a departure from its predecessor, featuring pull-rod front suspension, but never came close to emulating its performance.
The team failed to score a podium finish all year for the first time since 1980. However the car did prove very reliable, allowing Jenson Button and Sergio Perez to be classified in all 19 races.
